Port Elizabeth police arrested a 40-year-old woman on Monday for selling prescription painkillers and anti-anxiety medication at a house in Bethelsdorp.

Port Elizabeth police have asked for the public’s assistance in tracking down the next of kin of three men who were found dead in various places across the city in the past two days.

Gelvandale police have lauded the community for taking a proactive stance against crime in the area, but also cautioned residents to take care not to overreact or take the law into their own hands.

‘If we identify that there is a rapid increase, in particularly institutions or campuses, of infections, we will close those institutions,’ said higher education minister Blade Nzimande.
